Renowned Australian chef Trent Matthew Whelan has become a part of Pullman Danang Beach Resort’s team as Executive Chef.

Trent Whelan, who led four pre-openings in Mövenpick, Novotel, Mercure, etc., has contributed wholeheartedly to ACCOR as an Executive Chef in the last eight years. He also participated in various international brands, such as Grand Hyatt, Angsana, Parkroyal & Walt Disney. With a creative mind & passion for good food, he will now lead the Pullman Danang Beach Resort team to continue creating an unforgettable culinary journey with a plot-to-plate twist.

 

Food is my life

Trent started to explore cooking in the heart of Australia thanks to his grandmother. “My Grandma was a huge inspiration. In my mind, she was indeed the ultimate in home cooking. She made amazing meals & the best cakes for everyone. Every time, everything was absolutely homemade. And not to mention, she was the best entertainer. I would be at her place every chance I got while growing up.” 

Learning & growing as a chef, Trent enjoys the art of preserving the most. As an avid gardener, he delivers the best quality to the plate by always keeping the freshest ingredients ready. Trent is an expert in 50 days dry aged Australian steak & heartwarming dishes. 

And now, after several years in the industry, Trent has inspired many people with his love for cuisine from all around the world. Trent is excited to bring a new approach to Vietnam’s rich gastronomic heritage, specially crafted from fresh products from the land to the table, along with the global delights.

Enjoying cooking is the key to his success since he loves to cook for not our valued guests but also himself & his loved ones. From a simple Jambalaya with chorizo & prawns for dinner to the exquisite gold-covered Tomahawk steak, he wants to empower everyone, physically & mentally, with the best he can offer. 

In addition, Trent cherishes the effort of the whole kitchen team & believes that every heartist takes a significant part in delivering the best meal to the customers.
